Michael Saylor strikes: 168 Bitcoin for 18.8 million USD

  • As punctual as a Japanese Shinkansen, Strategy founder and Bitcoin permabull Michael Saylor announced his next purchase this Monday: The company has acquired 168 BTC for $18.8 million, once again proving its market dominance.
  • The average purchase price for this latest increase is $112,051 per Bitcoin, allowing the leading treasury firm to increase its BTC holdings at an 11 percent discount compared to the all-time high.
  • Several competitors have recently stumbled. After the summer euphoria, the Asian strategy counterpart, Metaplanet, even traded below its net asset value. This means that the company is valued lower on the stock market than its Bitcoin holdings. Semler Scientific, on the other hand, was acquired by Strive.
  • But the world's largest corporate Bitcoin holder, by far, remains undeterred, holding 640,418 BTC with a total value of more than $70 billion. Michael Saylor's Treasury NAV premium is 1.16.
  • As usual, he had already posted his BTC tracker yesterday, Sunday, before announcing the purchase. The US entrepreneur wrote: “The most important orange dot is always the next one.” In the long term, Michael Saylor and Strategy intend to hold an entire Nakamoto (= 1,000,000 BTC) as a reserve.
  • For the current trading year of 2025, he cites a BTC yield of 26 percent. This is the ratio of Bitcoin held by Strategy to the number of MSTR shares issued. Indirectly, shareholders hold more BTC than at the beginning of the year.
  • Nevertheless, MSTR's premarket share price is at $289, down 6 percent from the previous week. The hype surrounding DATs (Digital Asset Treasuries) appears to have died down for now, which is even affecting the pioneer.

If you want to follow Michael Saylor's example and increase your Bitcoin holdings, we recommend starting with a secure and easy-to-use crypto platform like Coinbase. Currently, they offer an exclusive €30 bonus in BTC for new customers.
