Arkham Intelligence experts have recorded $700 million in UAE bitcoin reserves

For the first time, the analytics platform Arkham Intelligence has publicly identified Bitcoin addresses belonging to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The UAE's $700M BTC holdings are now labeled on Arkham. These holdings come from Bitcoin mining operations carried out by Citadel, a public mining company majority owned by UAE Royal Group through IHC.

We are talking about $700 million in the first cryptocurrency, which were formed thanks to the mining operations of the company Citadel. The latter is a public mining company controlled by Royal Group through IHC.

“$700 million in UAE-owned Bitcoin is now marked as Arkham. […] Arkham is the first to publicly identify these addresses,” the official statement said.

Recall that according to Arkham Intelligence, the US government owns at least 198,000 BTC, despite reports of a decline to 28,988 BTC. The assets are spread across several agencies and have not moved in the last four months.

At the same time, according to CoinGecko, China and the UK occupy second and third places in the ranking of Bitcoin reserve owners.

Additionally, North Korea, Bhutan, and El Salvador are among the governments with more than 6,000 BTC in Bitcoin, with El Salvador continuing to buy Bitcoin daily and bringing its reserves to 6,280.18 BTC, according to the Bitcoin Office.

We previously reported that the Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan was the third-largest state-owned Bitcoin reserve in the world.

It should be noted that as of July 22, 2025, the total Bitcoin reserves of companies worldwide exceeded 1.1 million BTC.

According to Bitcoin Treasutries, the largest owners include:

  • Strategy (USA) – record 632,457 BTC;
  • MARA (USA) – at the end of July had 49,951 BTC;
  • Metaplanet (Japan) – increased reserves to 18,991 BTC;
  • Trump Media spent more than $2 billion on the asset;
  • Tesla – holds about 11,509 BTC.

Recently joining the accumulation wave were:

  • Ming Shing (Hong Kong), which invested $483 million for 4250 BTC;
  • Amdax (Netherlands), which announced a plan to control 1% of the entire Bitcoin supply;
  • Lib Work (Japan), intending to invest $3.3 million in the Bitcoin reserve.
