First Solana company receives Nasdaq listing

SOL Strategies is the first Solana-affiliated treasury firm to receive a Nasdaq listing. Trading will commence on September 9, 2025, under the ticker STKE. In addition to Nasdaq, the stock will also remain listed on the Canadian Securities Exchange (CSE) under the symbol HODL. OTCQB shares with the symbol CYFRF will automatically transition to the Nasdaq listing.
The listing is still subject to SEC approval of the Form 40-F Registration Statement. Leah Wald, CEO of SOL Strategies, emphasized that the move increases liquidity for shareholders and creates new avenues for institutional capital into the Solana ecosystem. With the Nasdaq listing, the company aims to expand its validator operations business and strengthen its role as a gateway for institutional investors in Solana.
According to CoinGecko, SOL Strategies holds approximately 0.68 percent of the total Solana supply (370,420 SOL). The holdings, originally acquired for $62 million, are now worth approximately $75 million and generated an additional $13 million in returns through staking. Following the announcement, the Solana price briefly rose to $210 before settling at around $205.
SOL Strategies began as Cypherpunk Holdings, a Canadian blockchain and cryptocurrency investment firm founded in 2018. With its strategic refocus on Solana, the company officially rebranded to SOL Strategies in September 2024. The company is led by Leah Wald, an experienced crypto executive who previously served as co-founder and CEO of Valkyrie Investments, where she built over $1.3 billion in assets under management.
Solana is a high-performance blockchain launched in 2020 with a focus on extremely fast transaction processing and low fees. This makes it particularly attractive for DeFi applications, NFTs, and Web 3 projects. In recent years, Solana has developed into one of the largest and most dynamic crypto ecosystems, despite technical setbacks such as network outages.
