Crypto expert: “Value investing is dead, Bitcoin will win”
- According to Jeff Park, Chief Investment Officer at ProCap BTC, the era of value investing is finally over. In a new X-post, the Bitcoin proponent succinctly declares: “The intelligent investor is dead.”
- He's referring to a book by economist Benjamin Graham, first published in 1949 and still considered an important financial guide for investors today. But according to the ProCap CIO, anyone who follows it in 2025 will automatically be “among the losers.”
- His explanation: “Anomalies are no longer exceptions. They are the rule.” Market drivers have fundamentally changed, so that sanctions, tariffs, and executive orders now determine sector valuations more than supply and demand in the free market.
- Park describes the traditional, Graham-inspired approach as “Newtonian investing,” which is outdated in the 21st century. The “ideological investor” is redefining value through geopolitics, artificial intelligence, and culture.
- Bitcoin is the ultimate expression of this radical change. “Bitcoin is deep value,” says the former Morgan Stanley employee. He added: “The future belongs to ideological investors […] That's why Bitcoin will win.”
- ProCap is a treasury firm founded by Bitcoin influencer Anthony Pompliano, modeled on Michael Saylor, that aims to accumulate the maximum number of BTC. It currently holds 4,932 BTC worth $542 million.
- Stock market legend Warren Buffett is considered one of the best-known proponents of value investing, for which Graham laid the foundation with his fundamental securities analysis. However, the 95-year-old has been skeptical of Bitcoin in the past.
- At least Michael Saylor is optimistic that this could change: “If I could spend an hour alone with Warren Buffett in a quiet environment, he would say: Bitcoin is a pretty good idea. Charlie [Munger] would have liked it. We're going to buy some.”
