According to Bloomberg: First ETFs on XRP and Dogecoin this week?
- According to Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas, REX Shares, together with Osprey, will launch the first ETFs on XRP and Dogecoin in the US starting this Thursday, September 18, 2025. The products will be launched under the Investment Company Act of 1940.
As of now, the Doge ETF $DOJE is slated for Thursday launch, as is a 40 Act spot XRP ETF $XRPR (which was in the same prospectus that went effective, Trump and Bonk also in there too, but no word on launch date for those yet) https://t.co/q20takMsAe

- While spot ETFs under the 1933 Act are still awaiting SEC approval, the chosen structure allows for a faster launch without further delays. The fund, listed under the ticker XRPR, is the first spot ETF on XRP and offers institutional investors regulated access to the third-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.
- At the same time, the Dogecoin ETF (DOJE) is launching. Both products could rekindle institutional investors' interest in altcoin investments. REX has already successfully launched the first Solana staking ETF, which now has over $250 million in assets under management.
- Prior to this, XRP and DOGE briefly surged sharply over the weekend. DOGE climbed to 30 cents, while XRP traded back above $3. However, the momentum waned as the overall market came under pressure.
- Last week, Erich Balchunas reported similar rumors about a launch. They proved unfounded.
- Those who want to invest directly in the coins don't need to go through funds. On Bitpanda, you can buy XRP, Dogecoin, and many other cryptocurrencies easily, in a regulated, and secure manner.
