Solo Miner With Tiny 48 Terahash Finds Bitcoin Block, Beats Mining Pool Titans

On Saturday morning, a lone miner hit the jackpot by successfully solving block 907283. Records show that this happened with a fairly modest hashrate of about 48.3 terahashes per second (TH/s). An impressive result for a one-man operation that brought in significantly more than expected.

CK Pool frontman finds block after 2,294 failed attempts since last

On Saturday, a lone miner found block number 907283, and according to amateur accounts, he did it using only a fraction of the computing power. “Another solo miner just found a block,” Solomining wrote on The X. “The lucky miner got a total hashrate of 48.3 TH/s from a single worker. It wasn’t Bitaxe, but it was still a very small solo miner with a hashrate of only a quarter of a modern S21+.”

The miner was working through CK Pool, a mining pool with a unique feature: participants mine alone, rather than sharing rewards like in traditional pools. CK Pool allows users to mine individually within the pool, meaning the miner receives the entire block reward and retains full control over the Coinbase transaction (payouts), while still enjoying the benefits of the pool's shared infrastructure.

The last block mined by CK Pool before today’s discovery was 2,294 blocks ago at 907,283. In 2025, CK Pool has mined a total of eight blocks, including today’s discovery. In 2024, CK Pool has mined just 16 blocks. Solo miners are incredibly lucky when they find a block, as they have to compete with industry giants like Foundry, Antpool, ViaBTC, and F2pool, who have significantly more hashpower.

With such a tiny share of the network’s hashrate, the chance of success is statistically extremely small – comparable to winning the lottery. Unlike large mining pools that dominate with their vast fleets of equipment, solo miners often rely on a single machine or a small rig. Since rewards are not shared in solo rigs, finding a block means winning the entire payout. But what are the odds? They are astronomically low, making each successful discovery an extraordinary event.
