Rare Bitcoin achievement: one Bitcoin miner single-handedly takes the entire prize!
One Bitcoin miner has independently solved a Bitcoin (BTC) block and received the full reward of $330,000.
One in a million chance!
According to Mempool data, a Bitcoin miner was rewarded $330,000 for a block despite the network difficulty reaching a record $126.98 trillion.
The solo miner is said to have earned $327,625 in subsidies and approximately $2,761 in total transaction fees, as well as 3.15 BTC.
By successfully mining block number 899,826, a lone miner received a rare reward of $330,386.
This achievement was achieved by mining block 300 on the Bitcoin mining pool solo.ckpool. “Congratulations to miner bc1qa8r4up9nchkvdnhcf9feexv2jfantrk48ef374 who increased his hashrate to solve block 300 on solo.ckpool.org!” noted CKpool developer Con Kolivas.
Kolivas added that, judging by Bitcoin's hashrate, it is likely that one miner rented additional hashrate to increase his chances of winning a block reward.
“Although the miner has been running at a much lower hash rate for a long time, the reason for the increase in hash rate is most likely due to rent, as there is only one operator operating.”
Bitcoin blocks are created approximately every 10 minutes and are primarily mined by mining pools that have the highest chance of winning a block. The reward for successfully solving a block is currently 3,125 bitcoins, following the halving that occurred earlier this year.
