Gemini Mines Bitcoin With Tesla Cybertruck
At the current Bitcoin 2025 conference, Gemini presented a live demo that combines electric vehicle technology with Bitcoin mining.
The company showed off a Tesla Cybertruck “Cyberbeast” version, wrapped in branded Bitcoin-themed vinyl, mining Bitcoin on-site using a Bitaxe device. The demonstration was part of a larger marketing campaign related to the lottery.

In particular, the Gemini demonstration showed how the Cybertruck, equipped with an 845-horsepower tri-motor system and the ability to tow up to 11,000 pounds, could also be used as a mobile mining rig.

Notably, the company behind this mining operation was Bitaxe, a compact and energy-efficient Bitcoin miner. This particular model was developed by Solo Satoshi, a company that provides home Bitcoin mining solutions.
The model used in the demonstration was the Bitaxe Gamma. Interestingly, this miner connects via Wi-Fi, operates silently, and is designed for easy setup, making it ideal for home and portable mining.
The demonstration was the result of Gemini’s partnership with Solo Satoshi at the conference. Solo Satoshi develops open-source mining hardware for individual users. The company reported selling more than 10,000 miners last month, adding more than 10 petahashes to the total global computing power .
Cybertruck Giveaway by Gemini
Meanwhile, the demo was part of Gemini's Cybertruck sweepstakes , open to U.S. residents aged 18 and over. The promotion, which runs from May 19 to June 18, 2025, offers two winners a Tesla Cybertruck “Cyberbeast,” each worth about $113,735.
Winners will also receive a $2,000 stipend to travel to buy a car and a cash prize to cover taxes. Notably, participants receive one entry for every $50 spent on a Gemini credit card or traded on the Gemini exchange.
Each person can make up to 20,000 entries, of which a maximum of 10,000 can be made using a card, 10,000 can be made using trading activity or alternative entry methods.
Bitcoin Mining Trends 2025
Meanwhile, the marketing push coincided with significant changes in the Bitcoin mining sector . The April 2024 halving reduced the mining reward from 6.25 BTC to 3.125 BTC, leading to lower profits.
Last month, hashprice , a measure of revenue per terahash per second, fell to $0.049, down from $0.12 a year earlier. Meanwhile, network difficulty reached an all-time high of 123 trillion, requiring more energy-efficient rigs to maintain profitability.
Despite the challenges, the global hashrate continues to grow. The total network hashrate has now reached 831 exahashes per second (EH/s), with peaks reaching 921 EH/s earlier this month.
That's up 77% from the 2024 low of 519 EH/s, thanks to new hardware deployments and rising Bitcoin prices. For reference, Bitcoin recently posted a new all-time high of around $112,000, and some analysts predict it will reach $225,000 later in 2025.
