Boerse Stuttgart Digital expands to Spain

  • Boerse Stuttgart Digital (BSDEX) is extending its reach into Spain. The German crypto platform announced this in a press release obtained by BTC-ECHO. The company is thus continuing its European growth strategy.
  • The company has inaugurated its new office in Madrid. BSDEX now has eight locations in Europe, including Berlin, Frankfurt, Milan, and Zurich.
  • “Spain, with its powerful, innovative banks, is a key market for us – we are already in advanced discussions with leading financial institutions,” explains Dr. Matthias Voelkel, CEO of the Boerse Stuttgart Group.
  • Spain is considered one of the fastest-growing crypto markets in Europe. Market studies predict an adoption rate of over 50 percent by 2025. Boerse Stuttgart Digital aims to leverage this potential to make it easier for financial institutions to enter regulated crypto trading.
  • The company now also offers MiCAR-compliant trading and custody solutions for banks, brokers, and asset managers in Spain. This spring, Boerse Stuttgart Digital became the first German platform to receive a Europe-wide license from BaFin under the new MiCAR regulations.
  • Domestic financial institutions also appear to be engaging more intensively with the crypto space. In July, the country's largest bank, BBVA, enabled its customers to trade Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
