Bitdeer Technologies (BTDR) announced the acquisition of 50 bitcoins (BTC), taking advantage of the opportunity to expand its holdings as the price of the largest cryptocurrency fell to its lowest level since June 2022.
In a tweet, the bitcoin mining company said the average purchase price was $81,475 per bitcoin.
According to Bitcoin Treasuries, this deal increases the total amount of bitcoin in Bitdeer's treasury to 855 BTC, worth about $69 million.
The company's shares fell 0.64% at the open, falling just below $11, as the price of bitcoin and the overall cryptocurrency market declined 4% over the past 24 hours. The cryptocurrency market showed gains in early U.S. trading, lifting BTC above $82,000.
