Video platform Rumble is preparing to launch a tipping feature in its first cryptocurrency for its more than 51 million monthly active users, CEO Chris Pavlovsky announced.

To implement the new option using Bitcoin (BTC), the service is collaborating with the largest issuer of stablecoins, a top manager said on stage at the Plan ₿ forum in Lugano, Switzerland.

“We’re currently in the testing phase, but we’ll begin launching alongside Tether in the coming weeks,” he noted.

Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino added that the feature will launch in early or mid-December after minor bugs are fixed and the interface is refined.

The Rumble team posted a video on X showing the first Bitcoin tip sent to content creator and former Canadian parliamentary candidate David Freiheit.

The integration could be a significant step toward the widespread adoption of crypto payments, given the video platform's large audience and its anti-censorship stance, which aligns with the views of many digital gold advocates.

While institutional adoption has been a key driver of the current bull cycle, Bitcoin's use as a means of payment has not yet reached the levels expected.

Block CEO Jack Dorsey warned that without widespread adoption in everyday transactions, the first cryptocurrency risks failing to realize Satoshi Nakamoto's original vision of becoming a peer-to-peer electronic payment system.

Bitcoin tips can help creators around the world.

Ardoino noted that since video content is primarily distributed online, the Rumble platform could become a natural environment for the development of crypto payments.

“Bitcoin and stablecoins can serve not only the segment of the population that is especially important to Tether—residents of developing countries—but also developed economies like the United States.”

He also noted that crypto assets have the potential to significantly expand the capabilities of content creators by providing them with protection from account blocking for their opinions.

Ardoino's company invested $775 million in Rumble late last year.

Rumble expands crypto activity

YouTube's competitor is also partnering with crypto payment company MoonPay to provide users with built-in crypto wallets and make it easier for content creators to receive Bitcoin tips.

In March, Rumble implemented a crypto strategy and accumulated 210.8 BTC (~$23.5 million), according to Bitcoin Treasuries.
