Bitcoin updated its ATH above $125,000.
On October 5, the first cryptocurrency recorded a new all-time high (ATH) at $125,708.

By the time of writing, the asset had corrected to $124,900. Over the past week, Bitcoin has gained 14%.
Other cryptocurrencies reacted weakly to the flagship's ATH update. Ethereum tested $4,600 but returned to $4,500.

Solana rose to $235 (+2.5% in 24 hours), Dogecoin rose to $0.26 (+2.3%).
Over the past 24 hours, the volume of liquidations reached $345 million, of which $220 million was shorts.

Community reaction
According to an analyst who goes by the pseudonym Rekt Capital, if Bitcoin can “convincingly” break above $126,500, the price is likely to go much higher and faster.

Nova Dius Wealth President Nate Geraci commented on the new record with irony:
“Bitcoin has reached a new all-time high… And most people still don't even know what it is.”
At the same time, according to Glassnode, the total balance of the leading cryptocurrency on centralized exchanges fell to a six-year low of 2.83 million BTC. Almost 170,000 BTC were withdrawn from trading platforms in 30 days.

Matthew Siegel, head of digital asset research at VanEck, noted that “exchanges are abandoning Bitcoin.” The expert believes the “first official shortage” could occur as early as Monday, October 6.
“This isn't financial advice. But it might make sense to stock up on coins,” he added.
Investor and trader Mike Alfred said he spoke with “the guy who runs the most important over-the-counter trading desk.” He said that at current volumes, the platforms will run out of Bitcoin for sale within two hours of the futures opening on Monday, unless the price rises to $126,000-$129,000.
As a reminder, CryptoQuant expert PelinayPA confirmed Bitcoin's “healthy momentum.” Analysts also identified conditions for the leading cryptocurrency to rise to $200,000.
