XRP and Solana on hold: SEC keeps BlackRock on tenterhooks

  • The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) postponed several decisions on crypto ETFs on Wednesday, including applications from BlackRock and Franklin Templeton.
  • Franklin Templeton now has until November 13 to decide on a change regarding Ethereum staking, while the deadline for its Solana and XRP ETFs has been set for November 14.
  • BlackRock also has to wait a bit longer: The application for approval of staking products in the iShares Ethereum Trust has been postponed to October 30.
  • The SEC does not provide any indication in its filings as to which direction it is leaning toward with the applications. Several other ETF applications for altcoin and staking products have already been delayed. In total, the regulators are currently considering over 90 applications for crypto ETFs and related products.
