This is what happens at the largest Bitcoin conference in Germany

The cloudy sky today, October 10th, can't dampen the spirits of the Bitcoiners in Ingolstadt. They've gathered at the largest Bitcoin-only conference in Germany – BTC-ECHO is also there live. And with them: a who's who of the scene. Bitcoin influencers like Marc Friedrich, Alex von Frankenberg, and Roman Reher will be sharing the latest news in the space, and representatives from the mainstream will also be there this year, including ARD stock market expert Markus Gürne.

Payment is made with Bitcoin, of course

What was already fashionable last year is attracting many Bitcoiners again in 2025. Despite the low temperatures, a few people are standing by the ice cream truck. The attraction there isn't the sweet treat; much more interesting is the payment method with Bitcoin, or more precisely, Satoshis. But what's almost indispensable at a Bitcoin conference is rarely used in everyday life, as this BTC-ECHO report reveals:

At least that's true for Western countries like Germany. In countries like Africa, the decentralized cryptocurrency is certainly in use. “There are significant regional differences. Globally, Bitcoin's use as an investment certainly predominates at the moment. In places where people have lower incomes, less banking security, and often no identification documents, Bitcoin is used more as a means of payment, for example, for remittances or cross-border transfers,” says Anita Posch, a human rights activist and committed Bitcoiner.

Nerdminer.de founder Julius Thiele is also a Bitcoin enthusiast. He told BTC-ECHO: “We have more customers paying with BTC than I initially expected. Payment processing is working excellently.” Thiele is offering his Nerdminers for sale at the 3rd Bitcoin Forum in Ingolstadt, where the Bitcoiner has his own booth in the Saturn Arena.

The conference runs until Saturday evening, with numerous presentations, workshops, and parties planned. Marc Friedrich, for example, will speak about the “greatest revolution of all time,” Bitcoin podcaster Niko Jilch will talk more about saving with BTC, and the final event will be a panel discussion with the board of Volksbank Raiffeisenbank Bayern Mitte eG.

Meanwhile, BTC-ECHO is canvassing for opinions – feel free to contact us. In the coming weeks, you can look forward to interviews and articles about the conference and digital gold.
