With bitcoin stabilizing near the $116,000 level, the network’s computational power is steadily climbing toward unprecedented heights.

Bitcoin Miners Drive Network Resilience Toward Historic Highs Amid Revenue Declines

Following a surge to 976 exahash per second (EH/s), computational capacity dipped under 900 EH/s within days. By Monday, Aug. 18, 2025, the worldwide hashrate recovered again, hitting 966.08 EH/s.

This resurgence occurs despite declining mining revenues, as hashprice fell 7% over five days. On Aug. 13, the daily value of one petahash per second (PH/s) of mining output was $60.61.

Currently, it rests at $56.37 per PH/s. Beyond bitcoin’s price, miners face additional pressure—transaction fees now account for under 1% of block rewards, merely 0.54% in the past 24 hours. Additionally, rising computational power has extended block intervals, averaging close to ten minutes.

This sets the stage for a marginal 0.13% difficulty adjustment forecast, though the figure may fluctuate before the Aug. 22 recalibration. At 966 EH/s, the network is only 10 EH/s away from a new all-time peak.

While bitcoin’s valuation and mining income remain volatile, the performance of modern application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) hardware remains a highlight.
