A new documentary is currently being produced that chronicles the intricacies of bitcoin’s four-year cycle and David Bailey — the founder of BTC Inc. and chairman and CEO of Nakamoto Inc. (NASDAQ: NAKA) — through what filmmaker, Parker Worthington, characterizes as one of the most critical periods in BTC’s history.

“It has been a considerable journey,” Worthington remarked at the Bitcoin Magazine live desk during the Bitcoin 2026 Conference.

The film, tentatively named This Time Is Different, is being made in collaboration with Michael Markle. Initially, the project was conceived as a focused documentary on Bitcoin payments, with initial footage captured in 2024 concerning open-source payment infrastructure.

However, its scope broadened after Worthington made numerous trips to film with Bailey’s associates. These initial visits took place in Puerto Rico, where nascent discussions about a company going public — at that time, a topic spoken of in hushed tones — were starting to emerge.

These early murmurs soon became the core narrative of the film. What transpired next was the public debut of Nakamoto Inc., established via a reverse merger with KindlyMD and supported by a capital infusion of approximately $710 million. This was, at the time, one of the most substantial PIPE financings ever associated with a digital asset enterprise.

The documentary endeavors to encapsulate the entire trajectory of a four-year cycle, encompassing the triumphs and tribulations of launching a public Bitcoin entity, the quiet period mandated by SEC regulations, and the fortitude necessary to navigate a downturned market while implementing a strategy for consolidating multiple businesses.

“I am pleased that you captured it on film so that individuals can witness the genuine enthusiasm that fuels this industry,” stated David Bailey, CEO of Nakamoto, from the live desk. “Many people suggest that those in bitcoin achieved success through sheer luck… this documentary illustrates the unwavering resolve required to be involved in bitcoin.”

Worthington informed Bitcoin Magazine that what might appear disorganized from an external viewpoint actually represents a far more methodical and intricate narrative than any stock ticker could convey. He cited Bitcoin Magazine, UTXO Management, BTC Inc., and Nakamoto’s wider media and investment divisions as evidence of an operational business possessing tangible revenue and market presence.

A release timeframe of winter 2027 has been suggested, although the project might extend into 2028, contingent upon the evolution of the broader crypto market cycle.

The film is anticipated to be a full-length feature, with potential distribution through a streaming service. Worthington and his team expressed interest in presenting it as a standalone work before considering any series format.

Bitcoin Magazine is published by BTC Inc., a division of Nakamoto Inc. (NASDAQ: NAKA).
