The Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, has officially declared his intention to step down from his role and as the head of the Liberal Party of Canada, effective once the party selects his replacement.
For the past few years, Trudeau has faced considerable backlash concerning his inability to address the nation’s housing crisis, escalating inflation, and other economic hardships. He has also indicated internal conflicts that prevent him from being the optimal choice for the country in the forthcoming 2025 Canadian federal election.

Trudeau, widely recognized for his anti-Bitcoin stance and other questionable economic strategies, commented in early 2023 that his political adversary and Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, Pierre Poilievre, was unfit for leadership. This was because Poilievre had advised Canadian citizens to hedge against inflation by holding bitcoin. Trudeau selectively presented data from the period when Poilievre made this suggestion, attempting to portray holding bitcoin as an unfavorable choice by asserting that Canadians would have lost half their life savings had they invested in bitcoin.
Had Trudeau demonstrated intellectual honesty and a broader perspective, he would have also encouraged his constituents to accumulate bitcoin. This is especially true given that bitcoin’s value has appreciated approximately 375% since Trudeau attempted to discredit saving in bitcoin.

Canada is approaching its federal election later this year, presenting an opportunity to elect the next global Bitcoin leader, Pierre Poilievre. Poilievre is a firm supporter of Bitcoin and has demonstrated a thorough understanding of monetary principles. Below is an insightful 10-minute speech by Poilievre on the nature of money, highlighting his profound grasp of the subject. Additionally, here is another address where Poilievre states, “The bottom line is we’re growing the money supply which causes inflation. We’re printing money to fund irresponsible government spending.”

In a manner akin to Trump’s visit to PubKey in New York City to purchase meals using the Bitcoin Lightning Network, Poilievre has also patronized a local Bitcoin business for food purchases. In 2023, he visited a Canadian eatery that accepted bitcoin and settled his bill in BTC, further emphasizing his receptiveness to adopting the asset and advocating for its use as a medium of exchange, not merely a store of value.
FUN FACT: Like Trump buying burgers with #Bitcoin, Canada's Conservative Party Leader Pierre Poilievre also buys food with Bitcoin.
He is currently leading in the polls. Will Canada be the next country to adopt #Bitcoin?! 🇨🇦 pic.twitter.com/PMkB4J4BTx

Bitcoin enthusiasts in Canada have an opportunity to cast their votes for a Prime Minister who would implement sound economic policies and champion the adoption of Bitcoin. Should this occur, they would join the ranks of nations like the United States, El Salvador, and others whose leaders are embracing Bitcoin and its advantages. Canada’s federal election is scheduled for October 20, 2025, at the latest.
From my perspective, Poilievre represents the most advantageous choice for Canada in this election, not solely due to his pro-Bitcoin stance but also because of his economic platform, his commitment to individual freedoms, and his logical approach. I am hopeful that Canada will embrace Bitcoin and resolve the economic challenges stemming from the mismanagement of the economy by Trudeau and the Liberal Party of Canada, by electing new Conservative leadership and promoting broader Bitcoin utilization within the country.
Therefore, Canadians, I urge you to participate in the upcoming election and vote for Poilievre. This is your moment to make history and welcome the future of finance through Bitcoin.
